If you're looking at this course then you're already OK with a map and compass - you'll know where you are most of the time. But its time to start knowing exactly where you are!
Part of this course takes place in poor visibility - so day 1's start time will depend on the time of year of each course - but at least 2 hours will be in fading light or darkness.
Over the course of two days this course will look at:
- Recognising and using micro features.
- Strategies & equipment choices for poor visibility
- How to navigate in featureless terrain
- Develop your use of pacing & timing in difficult conditions
- Work on more complex strategies such aspect of slope, resections, leap-frogging & more
- Emergency procedures
We aim for a no pressure positive learning environment - we want you to have fun over these two days - but this course is ideal preparation for anyone looking to complete an assessed course.
