We've tried to answer the most common questions we get asked here - but if you can't find an answer then please get in touch.
Can anyone attend your courses & days out?
Specific courses have specific requirements based on age - these aren't set by Mountain Services but rather by the course Awarding Organisations. Full details can be found in the Data Sheets that are available on each course page.
Anyone is welcome to attend our days out - but you should read the details and please ask if you have any concerns. For safety reasons we reserve the right to turn clients back if we feel they will not be able to safely accomplish the days objective.
Do I need any special equipment?
Any technical equipment that is required specifically for a day (climbing equipment, skills course materials etc) are provided by Mountain Services.
You should ensure that you have suitable clothing and footwear to keep yourself comfortable in typical UK weather - but more details can be found in our suggested kit lists.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Most of our courses take place in the UK and significant parts of them take place outdoors - so unless the weather is so bad that it is a threat to safety then we head out - just wrapped up warm and always with waterproofs.
The aim of Mountain Services courses is for them to be as fun as possible - so we may change locations or the order of the course to make the most of good weather opportunities.
