Guided Days

Guided Walks - we do the planning, you have fun

These walks change from time to time - but typically there'll always be something classic - something off the beaten track & something that really is an undiscovered gem. All walks happen if you book - that's guaranteed!

Striding Edge

Helvellyn's Edges

A Lake District Classic

This stunning walk is famous for a reason - an airy rocky ridge takes us to the summit of the Lake District's 3rd highest mountain - on a clear day there are stunning views in every direction - and then we have an equally good ridge left for our return.

Westmorland Wanderings

Journey through the UK's newest area of National Park

Having lived in the Westmorland Dales for nearly two decades I can tell you this area thoroughly deserves the recognition it is now receiving. Forming the change between the rugged scenery of the Lake District & the rolling nature of the Dales it's a relatively unspoilt area full of fascinating flora, geology & history - we even have a chocolate factory....

Scafell Pike - corridor route

The best way to England's highest point...

With over a hundred ascents of Scafell Pike I can still say that this is my favourite way to reach the summit. Height is at first gained steadily and easily - but soon the path narrows, the scenery gets wilder & despite the popularity of this mountain its easy to find a real sense of mountaineering adventure.

this route also has the great benefit that we're able to take a different route down - so we cover a lot of ground without retracing our steps.

Ingleborough

Yorkshire's best day out....

We take a route less traveled to reach the summit of this iconic mountain - a route that takes us through the wonderful limestone gorge of  Trow Gill and past the spectacular (but easily missed) Gaping Ghyll.

This can be a wild place on the wrong day - but often as not it affords some of the very finest views in the county & is a great option when the weather in the Lakes is less favourable.

The Riggindale Round

A fantastic ridge walk in a quiet corner of the Lakes

This walk starts in the historic flooded valley of Mardale - but we soon start to climb the wonderful Riggindale Ridge. This route into the high mountains is often a wildlife oasis with Red Deer commonly seen - and that's because its a hidden gem away from the crowds.

The ridge is never too challenging - but does afford many opportunities to try some easy scrambling - or to simply stop and stare at the fantastic views. A firm Mountain Services favourite.
